Cosa ha detto il dottore

Ha detto che la situazione non è buona
ha detto che anzi è brutta, molto brutta
ha detto ne ho contati trentadue su un solo polmone prima
di smettere di contarli
allora io ho detto meno male non vorrei sapere
quanti altri ce ne stanno oltre a quelli
e lui ha detto lei è religioso s’inginocchia
nelle radure del bosco si lascia andare a invocare aiuto
quando arriva a una cascata
con gli spruzzi che le colpiscono il viso e le braccia
si ferma a chiedere comprensione in momenti del genere
e io ho detto non ancora ma intendo cominciare a farlo subito
lui ha detto mi dispiace veramente ha detto
vorrei tanto darle notizie di tutto un altro genere
e io ho detto Amen e lui ha detto qualche altra cosa
che non ho capito e non sapendo cos’altro fare
siccome non volevo che lui dovesse ripeterla
e io digerire pure quella
me lo sono guardato
per un po’ e lui ha guardato me e a quel punto
sono saltato su e ho stretto la mano di quest’uomo che mi aveva appena dato
qualcosa che nessuno al mondo mi ha mai dato prima
mi sa che l’ho pure ringraziato tanta è la forza dell’abitudine.
